who the heck knew louis farrakahn played violin

sunday's week in review...

today, being somewhat less financially endowed, i was inspired to whip a little breakfast up...as i am unable to work in the kitchen if it is not super clean(even one dish) i started at the sink to tidy and what a delightful little surprize... this heart sewn by lil magpie and left laying around the house was found by the holy crow as well as this charm and viola! i wondered why he needed a pin last night...this of course inspired the thought of collecting photos of what people look at while they do the dishes...(i could really have some fun with flickr...i should investigate and learn how to use it!)

who does not love 'egg in a basket'??? yum yum simple goodness...this leads to the food portion of this week's review...
*drip...this place has loads of character.you could go just for the decor...simple, clean. the menu is small and reasonably priced...again loving the simple. the portions are only small if you compare them to america's ever growing waistline. the only thing i would change is to pep up the flavors and add more produce. this place does have the fuckin best chocolate chip cookies ever in the whole universe.(sorry about the swear word, i am trying to cut down...which would make the use of this word carry far more impact, which was exactly what i was going for.)
*green...simple yummy vegan food...why are there not more places like this??? food is good, price is okay, atmosphere is good, service is friendly or at least polite.

*taco nazo...this is a weekly staple. they are the providers of my favorite breakfast burrito.this is just your typical dive.atmosphere is nada. service is adequate. one huge factor in our support is the above pictured, god of all quarters!!! homies, santos, jewelry and this week's favorite*virgin mary stickers* i must have spent two dollars to get the coveted blue one...i gave a quarter to lil magpie and she scored it...and will not give it to me or trade!!!aiigh!!!

this picture proves not only that i have been working but that the girl at the yarn shop was right when she assured me that "once you go circular you never go back". i have avoided them for years. you are the first to witness my fall. i looove them! i am saving up to get a set of the interchangeable bamboo. yummy!!! i do have more pics...but i am going to wait till i have them loaded on to my etsy shop...cakehole
oh yeah movie review...
*i must own borat!!! nuthin i can say...
*children of men...i was expecting more. it was okay. michael cain was good. overall i wanted more character development and more story.
*harry potter...i thought it was good but short. nightingale reread the book before hand and realized this was a mistake as she knew all the cuts and changes...we both agreed that we would sit through a much longer movie(5 hours) if we could get more story.
today we brought home the new book...there could be a fight!

*this is my friend beth...
(terrible photo, sorry) she is a fantastic artist who never fails to inspire me. she is full of interesting stories. and intriguing ideas...

this is beth's "somewhat dodgey" bungalow...(artist studio) i covet a space like this

this is beth's lil box o horses...

beth rocks...
i mentioned beth before...she is the lady rocking the mehndelson

this is beth's bathroom message...hee hee hee

holiday in vain

...that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government...

i do not usually celebrate the fourth of july, as it is a holiday that my little birdies are away from the nest. in fact, lil magpie is away for two weeks with her duddy. i miss her vibrancy and cuddles. this week, day camp(which she is loving:horseback riding and swimming) and next week, camping. nightingale will join them for the trip to the white mountains.
a little photo tribute to lil magpie: my new favorites! mayday and tattoo day

fireworks were awesome. my favorites were the glittery ones. i felt however, that the display lacked composition.so after a while i gave up. i was already inside for the finale. in my defense, it was still one hundred degrees outside. we wondered how does one become trained for the job 'fireworks person'.
'shawn of the dead'( the best zombie movie ever! also in my top ten all time list) was how we finished the evening. the holy crow had never seen it(despite my urging for the last year and a half). he loved it(duh).

i finished knitting another bag and decided i will sew and felt up what i have before i do any more knitting. i have been busy weaving ends in. i was even able to get some done last night during the viewing. i should be finished by today and able to start the sewing. my treat for accomplishing this task will be a little foray to the yarn shop.
