about town

today i realized(again) that i am rarely ALONE. with lil magpie gone, nightingale the sleeping teenage beauty and the holy crow at work... i am alone.

***todays lil magpie tribute: last halloween as cinderella skeleton(she loves this book!)***

well, i finished weaving all those ends in and even got some sewing done. this equals yarn shop. i have not been in a looong while. they moved to a new location(across street). i bought circular needles...thought i would stop avoiding them. they have made a new roving display...very clever...also they have made their own little needle felt kits...sooo cute. i really wanted to take a picture but i felt dumb saying "for my blog". maybe next time i will bring some chutzpah in my purse!

chutzpah...good one! i am trying to be creative and not swear.(i was going to say balls(but maybe i should include vulgarity in my efforts)) it is not going very well. double effort with the nestlings present. could swearing be well done and considered as an art form? it is especially difficult driving. this is a task which naturally lends itself to the linguistic dark side.

the yarn shop was not yet open when i got there. here comes the alone part. what to do? mini ha ha roadtrip. i dropped off some donations at the charity shop(cleaning out for the move),went to another charity shop and scored the raddest silver cake server...half price...yea!

then drove through lots of construction(this makes me want to swear: except it is for a good cause(installation of lightrail public transit(it is about time)) in search of an elusive roadside memorial...cross of teddy bears... i collect photos of such things. no luck but i did find these others. the one on the left says his nickname was "slice". what is that story???

i also had a chance to stop by and get some of my favorite cookies at little market...yum yum! (these were also on sale) cookie goodness is bittersweet as the market is in the old co-op building. i still cannot believe the co-op went out of business(good reason for us to move) oh yeah, it is also in same plaza as the gym. oops:(

the nightingale did crawl from her hole and grace me with her presence, this afternoon, to go to the library. as you can see i even got a smile. i did not technically have to bribe her. of course, she crawled back in her hole as soon as we got home: dragging thirteen books behind her. well at least she reads! :) :) :)
